Peace Counseling Group has therapists on staff that are lifelong Christians and can provide counseling with a Biblical perspective. We understand that your faith is important to you and that you want your individual and marital therapy to be based on your beliefs in a Christ-centered way.
Since God designed us, He has the perfect guidance for having vibrant, loving marital relationships; His word holds the keys for us as individuals to work through personal struggles.
For example, 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” That is a wonderful verse, but seriously, is it really that easy?
I can read that verse, sure, and even believe it… but having that be an instant reality of my day-to-day life all of a sudden? Nope, it doesn’t really happen that way.
How can I handle anxiety as a Christian?
I can have a lot of faith and truly love God, and still struggle with something like anxiety. In fact, a verse meant for comfort can even feel like condemnation if I feel like a failure for not being able to pull it off.
How can I love myself so that I can better love others?
Other examples might include feeling like I’m not really all that lovable. God says I am, but I don’t feel like it. Maybe I feel the weight of all my imperfections and sin and I wonder… How could God really love me?
Maybe my marriage is struggling, even though I am submitting to my husband or loving for my wife and family the best I know how; but I still feel like I’m dying inside.
The days turn into weeks and months and years. It just keeps getting worse, even though I try so hard.
Relationships are a mirror of our heart.
God has designed relationships to be mirrors of what is going on deep inside of your heart. The therapeutic relationship provides an objective glimpse into that mirror. Let us help you read the reflection to heal hearts and repair internal struggles and relationship damage caused by our sinful nature.
